Mawgan Porth as a location is lovely - very small but...
Mawgan Porth as a location is lovely - very small but beautiful beach and enough there to survive. Also the bus service between Padstow and Newquay, via Mawgan Porth was good and meant we saw several other beautiful beaches. Great beach Lots of nearby walks, both along the cliffs and up the valley. When weather permits glorious sunset views. The Merrymoor Inn is a good place to stop for a drink or a meal, be prepared to book at busy times.

The beach was clean and beautiful. The water was clear.
The beach was clean and beautiful. The water was clear. We ate in the Merrymoor where the staff were friendly and helpful. The best coffee came from Cornish Fresh which had a good breakfast selection and a nice internal bakery. Brilliant for body boarding and surfing with RNLI lifeguards very much in evidence which is very reassuring. Beautiful beach - a few shops, well stocked store with plenty of home cooked items to take away. Everyone we met was really friendly. Good location especially for families probably not as busy as other well known locations nearby but all the local amenities you need are on hand. Great for a few short coastal walks and all the usual beach fun.
